Week 7

Another crazy weekend in the world of college football. 5 teams got beat by an unranked or lower ranked team.

Here are some of the Top 25 scores from the weekend:

 UGA vs. LSU  36-16

 #17 Oregon beat #7 Washington: 30-27

 Virginia beat #16 Miami: 16-13

USC beat #19 Colorado: 31-20

#22 Texas A&M beat South Carolina: 26-23

Iowa State beat #16 West Virginia 30-14

AND……..

#21 Auburn was defeated by unranked Tennessee, 30-24 in Jordan-Hare.

This is truly heart breaking for Auburn. With this loss, this puts Auburn totally out of the playoff running and now we are hoping for a decent bowl game. With three turnovers, Jarrett Stidham is not living up to the pre-season expectations fans had coming off such an awesome season last year. The interception that he threw on the trick play, mimicked the classic Eli Manning, falling to the ground scramble play that nine times out of ten ends in an interception. Auburn’s running game was still not looking good and the offensive line still seems to be missing.

Play calling from the coaches was also not going well. Sitting in the student section, the most frustrating play calls came when the Tigers were on their own ½ yard line and the ball was handed off to the running back instead of attempting a pass-play. Gus and his team are now on the chopping block with a 4-3 record and a 1-3 SEC record. With the win, Tennessee snapped a 11-game SEC losing streak and a 15-game losing streak to SEC West teams. This is horribly embarrassing as reigning SEC West champions and now Auburn is out of the Top 25.

Hopefully Auburn can get a win on the road against Ole Miss and regain some confidence.

War Eagle always,
