Week 6

Week 6

Woah. What a weekend in college football. 5 top 15 teams lost their match-ups against either un-ranked or lower ranked teams. It was a heart-breaking weekend as an Auburn fan, as we are still in search of our offensive line.

Let’s start off with FSU and Miami. This rivalry game started before the clock did. There was a pre-game exchange of words between the two teams in the end zone. This anger transferred over to the field as it back and forth until FSU started to take a 20-point lead. Midway through the second half Miami rallied and ended up defeating the Noles, 28-27.

Other scores from the weekend:

Alabama vs. Arkansas 65-31

19 Texas vs. 7 Oklahoma 48-45

22 Florida vs. 5 LSU 27-19

Utah vs. 14 Stanford 40-21

Texas A&M vs 13 Kentucky 20-14

Okay, let’s talk about Auburn Football…

I watched this game at a popular spot in Auburn and emotions were flying. Nick Fitzgerald broke Tim Tebow’s record for rushing yards in a career by a quarterback, running for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Of course, Auburn’s offense struggled and made costly mistakes and they did not capitalize on major opportunities. Jarrett Stidham overthrew Darius Slayton that would have been an easy score for the Tigers, then Whitlow fumbled RIGHT BEFORE he crossed the goal line and The Bulldogs recovered for a touchback. Auburn finished with 304 total yards of offense. Again, Auburn could not get any type of run game going, and they really couldn’t get anything going in the air. Mississippi State also won the possession battle, 41:53 compared to Auburn’s 18:07.

Auburn is now 4-2 and 1-2 in SEC play. They dropped 13 spots in the AP Poll, now landing at #21. The Tigers host Tennessee on Saturday on The Plains and this will be a better game than we expected after week one. Auburn is projected to win the match-up against the Volunteers, but with how our offense is operating right now, percentages don’t matter.

 War Eagle always,
